For over a century, people have searched the misty valleys and deep bush of Fiordland for the legendary moose. At Herrick Creek Distillery, we believe in the wild, the unknown, and the spirit of adventure that makes New Zealand what it is.

If you can prove the Fiordland Moose still lives, we’ll give you one jar of moonshine every month, for life.

It’s our way of keeping the legend alive, celebrating the wild, and sharing a spirit crafted with the same rugged determination.

What You’ll Win:

Submit irrefutable evidence:

• At least 2 original images or videos of a living moose in Fiordland
• Embedded GPS metadata
• Preferably supporting material like hoof prints or video footage

All evidence will be reviewed by a panel of experts including wildlife professionals, AI image analysts, and DOC representatives. This is a hunt for truth, not for trickery.

Ends: When proof is found, or 1 June 2027 (whichever comes first)

The Great New Zealand Moose Hunt — Terms & Conditions

• Promoter: Herrick Creek Limited, Christchurch, NZ
• Prize: One 700ml jar of Herrick Creek moonshine per month for life.
• No cash alternative: Prize cannot be redeemed, transferred, or exchanged for cash.
• Eligibility: Open to NZ residents aged 18+ only.
• Start Date: 10 July 2025
• End Date: When a winning entry is confirmed OR 1 June 2027, unless ended earlier at Herrick Creek’s discretion.

Entry Requirements:

• Two or more original images of a living moose taken in Fiordland.
• Embedded GPS location and timestamp metadata.
• Supporting material preferred (hoof prints, video, DNA/hair samples).
• Entries must not be AI-generated or digitally altered.

Verification:

All entries will be reviewed by independent wildlife experts, DOC advisors, and AI forensic analysts. Herrick Creek reserves the final decision on the legitimacy of entries.

Prize Fulfilment:

• Prize will be supplied as maximum one 700ml jar of moonshine per calendar month for the lifetime of the verified winner, or until Herrick Creek ceases trading. This may come as one annual shipment.
• Prize provision will cease if Herrick Creek Limited ceases trading or is sold.
• Recipient must be of legal drinking age and may be required to show ID upon each delivery or collection.
• Winner agrees to accept the prize in a manner consistent with NZ laws regarding alcohol consumption and responsible drinking.
• Herrick Creek encourages responsible consumption and reserves the right to pause or adjust prize fulfilment in compliance with NZ laws and best practices for alcohol safety.

Rights:

All submitted content becomes the property of Herrick Creek Limited and may be used in promotional and marketing content.

Entrants confirm they have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights.
