Introducing our Limited Release Smoked South Island Malt Whisky, a gritty and bold whisky that boasts a strong smoky flavour. Made from 90% peat smoked barley, 5% manuka smoked barley, and 5% unsmoked barley, using only Canterbury malted grains, this one-time release has been aged for 2 years in a small used American oak barrel (ex-Dusky) in Christchurch. This is true South Island Whisky!

We distilled this whisky with the intention of releasing it young, selecting only the middle of the heart cut to ensure a flavourful and memorable experience. Unfiltered and unapologetically smoky, Batch SM1 is not for those who shy away from bold flavours.

Notes from Cameron at Discovering Drams: Sweet, smoky, earthy char, & white pepper on the nose. Oily, NZ Peat up front, followed by sweet Manuka smoke, but not overpowering. Honey & vanilla - long & warming. "Simply fantastic."
