Passion of Fledging Businesses Flies High in 2023

Every year the caliber of entrants of The David Awards impress our judges, and 2023 is no exception. We're excited to announce the 2023 finalists in our six judged categories. This year our judges were especially wowed by the entrants in The Most Outstanding Fledgling Business category.

Judge Pam Martin said, "The combination of passion and business sense are key to a successful fledgling. Fledglings are always passionate about their new businesses, but a keen interest in establishing solid business practices is what can turn their passion into a sustainable and profitable business.

This category is always fun to judge as we see a wide variety of new ventures displaying a range of innovative ideas. The passion business owners display for their new enterprises is inspiring and this has certainly been true of this year’s entrants, but it needs to be backed up by good business practices. It is critical that fledglings establish their business processes to ensure that they are creating a sustainable and profitable business. This is what we the judges were looking for when selecting the 2023 finalists."
